I couldn't keep this to myself

Robert Hotchkins at the University of Chicago can insist: "Christians ought to be celebration constantly. We ought to be occupied with parties, banquets, feasts, and merriment. We ought to give ourselves over to veritable orgies of joy because we have been liberated from the fear of life and the fear of death. We ought to attract people to the church quite literally by the fun there is in being a Christian." Unfortunately we sometimes become somber, serious, and pompous. We fly in the face of freedom and grimly dig deeper into the trenches. In the words of Teresa of Avila, "from silly devotions and sour-faced saints, spare us, O Lord."
