Isaiah 60: The Glory of Zion

v. 2- "See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you."
We are living in a world of darkness and the only way any of us can see is simply by the light and glory of our Lord. Through His light, we see truth, reality, and the eternal. John 12:35-36 says, "Then Jesus told them, 'You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light.' When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them." We can trust the Light. We were made to follow the Light. Without it, we are lost and without a path or purpose.

v. 5- "Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy..."
I just love how this verse shows how passionate our God is! He is the God who made joy and love, and that's evident even in little verses like this! "Your heart will throb and swell with joy!" Anyone who has been in love knows this feeling well. Your heart leaps at the sound of that other person's name and you can't help but smile when you see them. This is the kind of love and passion the God of the universe wants us to have for Him! Can you imagine the joy we would have in the Lord in order for our hearts to "throb and swell with joy" just thinking about Him? I challenge you (and definitely myself) to strive for that. It doesn't all just come at once and it won't be like that everyday, probably, but simply engulfing yourself in His Word everyday and just talking with Him and remembering His promises is a good place to start!

v. 21- "Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor."
We are the offspring of our Creator. We are created in His image and the work of His hands. We were created to display His splendor and glory! That's all I got to say about that. Just think about that for a minute. :)
